Trust and lies

okay, okay
so I've written about how I feel about lying.
I've quoted Mr. Thompson's banner/question presented to my class (way way way back in the 80's). Then and now um m m m dealing with this issue with . . . other individual effecting values and it is driving me CRAZY~!!!

Okay so . . . a lie is a lie ~ RIGHT?

I've been convicted with this from reading TRUTH. ABSOLUTE TRUTH from His word.
That same conviction of dealing with it through teaching my girls; contrary to what they are being told and shown from their peers and adults! ;-{

There are the lies that are just right out there and BOLD :-/
Then there is the "little white lies" - a little more patchable but accepted as palatable :-(
Or the one that is the embellished falsehood - LIE, the more "colorful" to add flavor to a story ~ ugghhhh. :-0 !!! All are webs of deception that is not worth any cost!
But the one that really grates me is the lie of omission! 'You know the one that thinks; then says in the heart, 'I'll tell you only a part of whatever, so that I still get what I want because "no one will ever know." ' Ahhhh . . . . how about the reflection of Ananias & Sapphira am I hearing correctly - HELLO!!!! But GOD KNOWS all the time! When the TRUTH comes out one needs to really ask ~ "was it worth all the hard ache? deception? separation? and now the DISTRUST?!!!" that will be very hard to reestablish if possible.

It says "Telling lies about others is as harmful as hitting them with an ax, wounding them with a sword, or shooting them with a sharp arrow. Putting confidence in an unreliable person is like chewing with a toothache or walking on a broken foot." Proverbs 25:18-19 (NLT)

How does one remedy all of this? By reading the truth. John tells us that "If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free!" 8:31b-32 Isn't it worth that? To be SET FREE? Who likes being in bondage? I sure don't. Steer clear from those who are unreliable so that your not dealing with the effects similar to a tooth ache or a broken foot. So if there is an issue in any of these areas of lying . . . start reading and then REALLY ~ LIVING!

Samuel so young was hearing the Lord; he just had to be guided with counsel to listen properly to the the correct voice. I've been guilty of that many times. Whether Kent, or one of the girls or even in a meeting of some type. I hear but because my mind is elsewhere . . . daydreaming, worrying about something (I know we are not supposed to and it is truly being worked on. With many steps yet to get it accomplished positively), or simply not present in the present. Emily reminded us this morning during her devotion that we need to not only hear the Lord but we need to be willing to LISTEN when he is speaking. Out of the mouth of babes, as often referred in my adult learner stage reminds me. ;-? So your right Em, Am I listening, truly listening that it could be said of me, "Speak Lord for your servant is LISTENING?"

See precious Emily . . . the heart of gold (with a twist of ornery written in there ;-0 ), does listen and observe her surroundings. I know I've written about it in the year past blog. Today . . . was different. Her eyes spoke sincerely while the words flowed with love to our family before we sang along with Kent teaching us a new song this week. Their two messages rang clearly, one with the melody of truth and the other with rhythm.

"Your name is like no other, Your name is a strong and mighty tower, Your name . . . ."

Goodness me. . . . His name . . . mighty yet gentle; risky yet surefooted and firm; meek yet powerful; feared, revered, yet comforting . . . . just to speak his name gives me goosebumps with a surrounded AWE struck pause.

Yes go ahead, "Speak Lord, your servant IS listening because you are never one to LEAVE me all alone! And by the way Thanks for being my Daddy - I LOVE YOU!!!"

A time for EVERYTHING

Why are there seasons? When did four seasons turn into two and a half? Why are the autumn leaves so wonderfully colorful with rich reds, auburn, golds, faint yellows and the last clinging life of greens while the brown bark on the trees magnify their brilliance arrayed against the cool brisk grey sky of the obvious season of HARVEST looms the air?

Spring: Full of newness of Life like the tulips coming up quickly the flaunting their face.
Summer: Radiant with laughter faintly in the canvas in the far off distances while the Lily of the valleys shine with simplicity of gentleness
Autumn: The splash of frosts, rainbows of deep rich prisms to behold while the sweet ciders and aromas of wood burning, peculator bubbling, moaning & pots whirring, sizzling preparing for the time to hibernate . . . and the mums cry out to stand strong
Winter: Cold to the bone, warmed with cocoa and coffees, a blanket, the hearth blazing with a wood fire, cuddled in a blanket. Ummmm . . . home baked goodies to melt in your mouth; the fresh snow glitters gently from the sky to make a warm blanket of bright light glistening against the frigid north fronts moving in.

This morning was a nice reflection to hear the girls favorite seasons of the year to realize how uniquely different they are and now, how they all like different ones. The rays of ROARANGE (red and orange) begin to mingle. And Solomon writes it best; There is a time for everything!

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every ACTIVITY under heaven. . . . . He has made EVERYTHING beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end."
Ecclesiastes 3:1 & 11

So I'll ask you like we were challenged for the day. What two things are you waiting to see happen? What helps you WAIT patiently?
