"Awh" ~ fun with a Smile and lively spirit

One and a half ~ TODAY 6-24-2010

Lures of the world

Why is it such a struggle to take a stand and be different? It is so disconcerting to think the worlds standards are okay when we are created to edify the Master and be one who honors him by worshipping Him in every aspect. My sights of focus have been challenged yet again after reading a book that Sarah H. suggested when she prepared a series of lessons for Mission Lake Ladies.

After reading, it came to my hearts conviction to live; really weighing the realities of the lures of the world and the dangers of believers succumbing to its pull is and can be saddening. Walking with the almighty is rewarding and tough. But it is much better than the drive to believe it is okay to be like the world when we are only aliens in a strange world and passing through until we finally go home.

It's easy to be like the world but the world really desires deep within to be like Him; if not then why does the lures of the world leave many empty for the temporary gratifications to only search for other happen stances? Don't let the lures captivate you and hook you. Simply give your heart a scouring that creates a clean and pure heart with a focused vision to live and love the way it was intended to attracted in a holy manner ~ His Glory is much better than the lures of this world.

Today

The air this morning is crisp, cool, refreshing and the heat seems to have subsided. Ahhhhhhh, cries out my epidermis, every follicle is screaming "yes" this is great weather after a short heat wave that just simply stop my lungs from being able to move without thought. The humidity was heavy and deep upon the chest cavity and the pores were struggling to keep the dermis cool. A wet heat is a simple workout.

Isn't it funny when we don't appreciate the Creator for his creation until we think it is time to tell him how to create the day to our comforts? I so realizing how I do appreciate life and the time that has been granted for to enjoy the moment of TODAY while at FSCSC in MO.

eighteen minutes

If life we lived for only one more hour: I would be grateful for the voices of my babies.

Today was a moment frozen in time. Let me try to explain; eighteen minutes and twenty seconds just wasn't long enough but like felt like a lifetime held in suspense. The phone rang and we were getting ready to speed into the store, get what we needed and speed out to get to the next checklist location. However, in the midst of unbuckling little number five, Princess number three heard the phone ringing. She preceded to say, "Mom, can I get it? PLEEEEEEEEASE?" "Yes, Manaithy, go ahead." "IT'S FROM BERNARD'S!!!! IT'S MYA, MOMMY, IT'S MYA!!!! I am going to put it on speaker phone!"

"Hello MY! HOW ARE YOU!?" Poor My, she didn't even get a chance to say hello that is how excited we were to hear her voice! Her voice, raspy as if very sore, but sweet as honey straight off the comb. "Hi EVERYONE!" ;-( I was so thrilled and sad at the same time. It was only the three of us able to talk with her. "We just couldn't get enough said, asked or listened to in those quick eighteen minutes and twenty seconds. It just crushed me. My baby is ill, her leg may have an infection from sort of "bite" and they needed our okay to administer antibiotics. "Yes, that is okay, YESTERDAY." ;-) Gosh she is so like the tree.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree she thought at first it was just a mosquito bite. But it, the bite area, has progressively gotten to where there is now a 'hole' in her leg and possible infection. So she told the missionaries about it and they desired her to call us. ;-) Her immunities seem low and now the power of PRAYER to join in with modern day medication to get her back home safely and in very good health state side.

Ummm Hum, eighteen minutes and twenty seconds, not long enough but enough to hear that sweet child's voice and say a prayer of THANKSGIVING for a life to give back to HIM! May the Lord receive ALL the GLORY ~ Eighteen minutes with my precious eighteen year old PRINCESS = PRICELESS!!!!!

Growth in Dominic Republic

The rains are pouring, the sun shines, the winds blow and the humidity can really pull every atom to a screeching HOLT. Okay so that is very over exaggerated, but you get the picture. My mom thought it was 'hot' in May but if she were here now she would think she was sitting in a sauna with sunshine peering through the ceiling.

It is just a time for my to remember our Mya, the wonder gal of growth. Who would have thought a year ago we would be here. Her in Dominic Republic seeing "life" happen as a missionary, as close as possible while teams come, work, and return. She is living the "behind" scenes and developing relations with saints from all over. She is beginning to sprout, the growth hard, like the seed needing cultivation. However, with all the correct sun, water, wind and the coolness of the evening - growth none the less. Her feet weary, her arms aching, her limbs stretched, her head swimming, her heart longing, she has been preparing all these years like in the conditioning of XC (cross country) but differently. This is a long, hard and fulfilling task that makes some and breaks others. We are eager to hear what she has gleaned. We realize that she is being tested in ways we do not comprehend. Life is life, some seam to skim the surface while others plow the field and toil with the much needed LOVE from a heavenly Father that is granted by a recycled life poured out as a drink offering along with others at her side. Five weeks? yes. She is our Mya, HIS JOY and we all LOVE HER!
