Haiti Pastor Kidnapped today PRAYER WARRIOR ALERT
PRAYER WARRIOR ALERT NEEDED NOW 10:54 p.m.
January 27, 2010
Carie Rogers-Bernard URGENT PRAYER REQUEST!! One of our Grace Covenant pastors, Pastor Oseme in Haiti, has been kidnapped. He is being held for ransom. Please pray!

Carie Rogers-Bernard
Today Pastor Oseme of Haiti went into Port Au Prince to meet with the American Consulate. While he was there he was kidnapped. He is now being held for ransom. Unless $1500 US is paid in ransom by tomorrow, Pastor Oseme will be killed. It would appear that the logic here is that beings Pastor Oseme went to the American Consulate that he has contacts in the US who would pay.

From Dallas Elder~Otherwise, Haitians would not kidnap another Haitian. Pastor Raquens and I agreed that right now we need to bath the situation in prayer and pray for his release. Remember Peter was released from prison by the power of prayer. If the Lord shows us something else to do, we will do it. But for now we need to generate as much prayer toward pastor Oseme, his captors and his family as possible. We will give updates as we get them. Please seriously pray and get the word out to other intercessors at this hour. Blessings.

21 gun
21 gun solute than the bugle - TAPS.
It makes me very appreciative to be a citizen where we are still free to proclaim the gospel
because of our founding fore fathers established many things in the name of Judeo beliefs.
Men (mankind) fought for our freedoms and still do to keep us FREE.
Today was a day to remember our Veterans
through a funeral service I attended.
From the very first veteran service I attended only weeks old
to now; I am thankful for those who have fought to provide me the
humbling honor to be called a citizen of the United States
where freedom presently still rings.
For those whom have laid down their lives for me - Thank You
I do remember you and it will be forever etched in my memory
when I hear that 21 gun solute and TAPS.
For you I am thankful so that I can freely worship the TRUE KING and be FREE!

New or Not New
Have you ever had a moment where you thought you just experienced a "dé⋅jà vu" or maybe you didn't? Did that really happen or not. Was that a new encounter or not? Though it was contemplated the true realization = FOUND FAMILY
Okay so let's do some circling here to bring you up to speed. Today we met our brother and sister preparing to relocate from Joplin to Africa - that's right AFRICA! Our fellowship short but our lunch conversation revealed a great deal. For instance: We discovered the passion for the Lord to be great! We discovered our lives were both touched by the same family in more than one way.
The family; THE CASEY'S touched my life in the 80's their lives intertwined with ours on multiple occasions. College, camp representatives, mission trips, conventions, hospitality visitations, etc. up through the present time. The Casey's lives intermingled with the Beck Family in several ways; :-) PTL!!! Now we met one another TODAY!
I loved hearing about the experience that brought them to today. I truly enjoyed seeing how Faith just enjoyed the company of their daughter Rylee and desires to get to know her! Oh I know our encounter was New but it didn't seem so. It was very refreshing to see how new can be so refreshing that it is really not new at all but ~ FAMILY! Thank You Becks' for sharing your heart with our family. We count it a privilege to have discovered your heart. Until we meet again may you continue to BE New yet not New to others.

Gentle Giant
"Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted . . . " Matthew 5:4
5 am came too late when we were awakened by Kent's cell phone
We knew something wasn't quite right . . .
One of my favorite gentlemen in our body moved to ICU . . .
What? Why? His heart?
To look at Bob every Sunday morning sitting right behind us with his huge smile - ah; I always make an earnest attempt to greet as many as possible every time we worship together which now makes me desire to keep greeting others sincerely. Because of special people like BOB; I am so grateful that I get the privilege for those moments: to say, "Good Morning, Bob" with a firm, warm handshake from this man who was a gentle giant - then a sincere hug.
To grab his hands is like grabbing a loving grandfathers grip, To see his soul through his eyes, I never questioned his LOVE for the Lord - NEVER. Bob the grandfather figure; a man of many years, his body worn with time yet his gentle soft hearted manner warmed my soul every time I saw him. His grin priceless. He not being a man of many words but when he did speak my ear lent full attention. His encouragement from the moment we met him was continual in spurring us on. His last affirmation - WARMED my heart to the core because I knew Bob only speaks his words with meaning and thought. I am so glad I heard him and LISTENED to him one more time!
Bob is with Jesus now after awaiting the defibrillator to be "releasing" his body. I will definitely come and grab his hand when we are in worship with ABBA our Father God during The ULTIMATE WORSHIP service. When I get to be home with my brother -BOB I will say, "Thank You Bob for your smile, your firm grip that was very gentle and for your example of Loving Barb like you loved JESUS!" Bob - You will be missed this Sunday . . . But I can hardly wait to See YOU AGAIN my friend, my brother. Save me a spot to sit next to you AGAIN some day soon!
