Haiti Pastor Kidnapped today PRAYER WARRIOR ALERT

PRAYER WARRIOR ALERT NEEDED NOW 10:54 p.m.

January 27, 2010

Carie Rogers-Bernard URGENT PRAYER REQUEST!! One of our Grace Covenant pastors, Pastor Oseme in Haiti, has been kidnapped. He is being held for ransom. Please pray!

Carie Rogers-Bernard
Carie Rogers-Bernard
Today Pastor Oseme of Haiti went into Port Au Prince to meet with the American Consulate. While he was there he was kidnapped. He is now being held for ransom. Unless $1500 US is paid in ransom by tomorrow, Pastor Oseme will be killed. It would appear that the logic here is that beings Pastor Oseme went to the American Consulate that he has contacts in the US who would pay.

Carie Rogers-Bernard
Carie Rogers-Bernard
From Dallas Elder~Otherwise, Haitians would not kidnap another Haitian. Pastor Raquens and I agreed that right now we need to bath the situation in prayer and pray for his release. Remember Peter was released from prison by the power of prayer. If the Lord shows us something else to do, we will do it. But for now we need to generate as much prayer toward pastor Oseme, his captors and his family as possible. We will give updates as we get them. Please seriously pray and get the word out to other intercessors at this hour. Blessings.

21 gun

21 gun solute than the bugle - TAPS.

It makes me very appreciative to be a citizen where we are still free to proclaim the gospel
because of our founding fore fathers established many things in the name of Judeo beliefs.
Men (mankind) fought for our freedoms and still do to keep us FREE.

Today was a day to remember our Veterans
through a funeral service I attended.
From the very first veteran service I attended only weeks old
to now; I am thankful for those who have fought to provide me the
humbling honor to be called a citizen of the United States
where freedom presently still rings.

For those whom have laid down their lives for me - Thank You
I do remember you and it will be forever etched in my memory
when I hear that 21 gun solute and TAPS.
For you I am thankful so that I can freely worship the TRUE KING and be FREE!

New or Not New

Have you ever had a moment where you thought you just experienced a "dĂ©⋅jĂ  vu" or maybe you didn't? Did that really happen or not. Was that a new encounter or not? Though it was contemplated the true realization = FOUND FAMILY

Okay so let's do some circling here to bring you up to speed. Today we met our brother and sister preparing to relocate from Joplin to Africa - that's right AFRICA! Our fellowship short but our lunch conversation revealed a great deal. For instance: We discovered the passion for the Lord to be great! We discovered our lives were both touched by the same family in more than one way.

The family; THE CASEY'S touched my life in the 80's their lives intertwined with ours on multiple occasions. College, camp representatives, mission trips, conventions, hospitality visitations, etc. up through the present time. The Casey's lives intermingled with the Beck Family in several ways; :-) PTL!!! Now we met one another TODAY!

I loved hearing about the experience that brought them to today. I truly enjoyed seeing how Faith just enjoyed the company of their daughter Rylee and desires to get to know her! Oh I know our encounter was New but it didn't seem so. It was very refreshing to see how new can be so refreshing that it is really not new at all but ~ FAMILY! Thank You Becks' for sharing your heart with our family. We count it a privilege to have discovered your heart. Until we meet again may you continue to BE New yet not New to others.

Gentle Giant

"Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted . . . " Matthew 5:4

5 am came too late when we were awakened by Kent's cell phone
We knew something wasn't quite right . . .
One of my favorite gentlemen in our body moved to ICU . . .
What? Why? His heart?
To look at Bob every Sunday morning sitting right behind us with his huge smile - ah; I always make an earnest attempt to greet as many as possible every time we worship together which now makes me desire to keep greeting others sincerely. Because of special people like BOB; I am so grateful that I get the privilege for those moments: to say, "Good Morning, Bob" with a firm, warm handshake from this man who was a gentle giant - then a sincere hug.

To grab his hands is like grabbing a loving grandfathers grip, To see his soul through his eyes, I never questioned his LOVE for the Lord - NEVER. Bob the grandfather figure; a man of many years, his body worn with time yet his gentle soft hearted manner warmed my soul every time I saw him. His grin priceless. He not being a man of many words but when he did speak my ear lent full attention. His encouragement from the moment we met him was continual in spurring us on. His last affirmation - WARMED my heart to the core because I knew Bob only speaks his words with meaning and thought. I am so glad I heard him and LISTENED to him one more time!

Bob is with Jesus now after awaiting the defibrillator to be "releasing" his body. I will definitely come and grab his hand when we are in worship with ABBA our Father God during The ULTIMATE WORSHIP service. When I get to be home with my brother -BOB I will say, "Thank You Bob for your smile, your firm grip that was very gentle and for your example of Loving Barb like you loved JESUS!" Bob - You will be missed this Sunday . . . But I can hardly wait to See YOU AGAIN my friend, my brother. Save me a spot to sit next to you AGAIN some day soon!

Blustering chilly day

My brain is a bit on the chilly side today.
All I can come up with is what I came across today in reading.

. ."there are Two types of people: 'enlarged souls' who live life with faith-filled optimism and "shriveled souls' who let themselves become embittered and withered by life's hardships." Paul Borthwick "nine suggestions to avoid the 'shriveled soul syndrome': Avoid gossip, Release bitterness, Take risks, Trust, Don't live for 'stuff', Master your appetites, Grow deep, Be generous, Think GLOBALLY . . . follow the Lord of the Universe"- which to me (Ana-Maria) IS in Jesus Christ.

What king of person is it going to be then?!!!

Dust

Dust, dust go away
you never seem to be totally out of our lives!

UGH it is so contemplatively frustrating that you always
seem to hang around us

Pledge only lasts for about a week, if that.
hummmmmmm . . . and the feathers don't keep you at bay
very long either. Although the smell after pairing up with Pledge is
sweet and pleasing.

With that I bid you ado again.

Beauty from Pain -

As many all around the world know about Haiti, I can't help but think this might be how they feel. By our bended knees they can come to see GOD and His LOVE for them and bring Beauty to them through our LOVE to them.

"The lights go out all around me
One last candle to keep out the night
and then the darkness surrounds me
I know I'm alive but it feels like I've died
and all that's left is to accept that it's over
my dreams ran like sand through the fates that I've made
I try to keep warm but I just grow colder
I feel like I'm slipping away

After all this has past, I still will remain
After I've cried my last, There'll be BEAUTY from pain
though it wont be TODAY, someday I'll HOPE AGAIN
and there'll be BEAUTY from pain ~
YOU WILL bring BEAUTY from the pain

My whole world is the pain inside me
the best that I can do is just get through the day
when life before is only a memory
I wonder why God lets me walk through this place
and though I can't understand why this happened
I know that I will when I look back some day
and see how you've brought BEAUTY from ASHES
and made me as Gold purified through these flames

After all this has past, I still will remain
After I've cried my last, There'll be BEAUTY from pain
though it wont be TODAY, someday I'll HOPE AGAIN
and there'll be BEAUTY from pain ~
YOU WILL bring BEAUTY from the pain

Here I am at the end of me
try to hold to what I can't see
I forgot how to hope this nights been so long
I cling to YOUR PROMISE
there WILL be a dawn

After all this has past, I still will remain
After I've cried my last, There'll be BEAUTY from pain
though it wont be TODAY, someday I'll HOPE AGAIN
and there'll be BEAUTY from pain ~ the pain
YOU WILL BRING BEAUTY from the pain"

Today please lift up three families who are missionaries on the island of Haiti/ Dominican Republic

Wurdemans' - who are safe

Dorces' - no word, they live directly in Port-Au-Prince

Bernards' - safe in states but the indigenous Saints are still there.

These three families I know personally and ask the Warriors of Prayer to be with them and their missions to outreach the gospel to a LOST PEOPLE on the ISLAND particularly in Haiti.

In Jesus Name - May their hearts hear and ACCEPT the gospel message! I know there are missionaries there working, ministering and PRAISING during this time. May we lift them up for strength!

Roses

Hadassah Rose

God is SO GOOD ALL THE TIME! Our God is so good, I just thought I would share our Family Rose Garden thought with You. Kent is a deep Red Rose to me and many other colors through each year. Little did I know that we would have other roses in our life. Who knew that we would have five BEAUTIES? Abba Father God did!!! Where did the years go? It has sped by very rapidly. It was like just "yesterday" that we were getting ready to share we were with child with Mya, Tia, Faith and Emily; then She ("HADASSAH ROSE") blessed us on Christmas Eve '08 and now she is already ONE~!!!

"Haddy" (referred by) her sisters said with JOY would be "our nickname" for her. Not minding really all that much because it was their contribution to her "name" ;-D. She has been one of the joys for and of our family. Haddassh is the fifth 'rose' in our family flower garden and her fragrance is very sweet. The colors are so wonderful and vibrant in our garden. They continue to bloom with each pruning. From the eldest ready to bloom again and be transplanted in her her own garden to the youngest pruning & taking steps to bloom in the home garden and while quickly becoming on the "GO". Roses as a garden we have found are truly hardy. I Love our Rose gardens: The girls and the one outside, with all my heart. They are all so different; their Character as well as their personality is a reminder of that every day. Yes there are some thorns but the stem is sturdy. I guess the stem is YahWeh, the thorns the obstacles that come and go and the blooming is Jesus Christ; while the fragrance is the Holy Spirit moving through us daily. ;-D Can't you just smell them?

Roses. Enjoy the walk and "Stop and smell the Roses" in life. It is well worth your time!

Our Garden grows with radiance of COLOR! What do you think they may be? Or even better yet what does your garden smell and look like? I LOVE OUR "ROSES" even when there are thorns in our walk of life (it is like "Doing Hard Things" - Harris Brothers), for that is part of a garden. Well I get to stop and smell and gaze at them FREQUENTLY and for that I am truly blessed and thankful for . . . ;-D.

Here is a tid bit about Roses and their meanings I thought you might like. ENJOY!!!

Fireplace

The embers of a flame are hypnotic
crackle from the sap, bark, pine needles, the tree
sparks fly, flames rise, heat is omitted
The smoke billows

The chimney comes to life
as the flames dance around,
teasing, laughing, hissing, soothing
the eyes is captivated
the smell of pine fills the air - wood is burning
memories along the ROCKIES permeates my soul, longing for each
moment to be rekindled.

The sound of wood being chopped with the flow of an ax
the buzzing hum of a chain saw
the cracking of the tree branches and stump turned into kindle
the hearth greets with open arms awaiting to embrace what will come
preparations: heat, fuel, and the source to provide
moisture, food made with love.

a fresh cup of Joe
a warm blanket
a good book
laughter
food
fun

I love the atmosphere surrounded by the fireplace;

Romance, wonder, awe
All dancing in my thought - to me refreshing

Parking

Okay so I asked the family to not say a word, that it only could come from Mya.

Well . . . now we live on an EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTE so every time we need to move we are very quick to help out our neighbors and they us when the notice is out to "MOVE" off of the snow routes. Weather has been the best for that this year. We move, We dig out of natural causes and then getting the ice from the snow plows so that we are somewhat mobile. However today was a SHOCKING day to say the least.

Mya couldn't park on the "lower street" where we normally park due to getting stuck because of all the plowed snow SO she decided to park on the "Upper street" where she noticed her daddy parking. She jumped out yesterday after visiting "Ashley's for vitamin D" before the storm with "WHITE OUT" hit. She was very excited that she was able to get everything done, have fun with family and then a friend over until wee hours in the morning working out, playing Wii and watching movies. Today Kent needed to get out and Mya felt she needed to also. As Kent was getting ready to go help her and get the van and car dug out Mya came in to the house and said, "THE CAR IS MISSING!!!! It's GONE!!!!" With us looking at her like deers caught in the headlights, we asked her if one of her friends could be playing a joke. By the look on her face she wasn't joking. Well . . . a phone to the police department to report a possible theft she informed me that the car was TOWED around 2:17 am Jan 7.

I needed to really apologize to Mya. I admitted I was wrong in my attitude, sought forgiveness and said I was sorry before I called the police dept. again to ask for more assistance to find the cars location. I was short with her, frustrated at what we would find out. Bummer to blunder with your child.

Well we were shocked. Mya moved her car off of our SNOW ROUTE onto another snow route.
I only wish we could have had our car at the first location: Collision Repair, where we were told it was at first. They were VERY HELPFUL and KIND only to discover, it was NOT there. A few phone calls later, an unprofessional and unassisted call later did we find our vehicle. My prayer is for a man who definitely NEEDS the Love of Jesus. He not only was rude, he hiked our towing fee from what we where told it would cost, then he called back our cell and said, "When are you coming back, because I need to eat breakfast!?" Matthew reminds us to "LOVE OUR ENEMIES!" and I prayed like mad for him because of his un-professionalism being so harsh. We realize it was our mistake after the fact, we contacted him to see what we needed to pay and took care of our debt. Hmmmmmm is this what is meant in "turning the other cheek or going another mile?" Yes sirree, because two wrongs don't make a right. And he obviously needed the love of Christ to come across his path and maybe put bread on his table for his family.

So the word of advice, be aware of your surroundings and signs before you park ~ especially in the winter during a snow route emergency. ;-/

My Ultimate

Weather challenges many individuals in different ways. For some it is the tasks of pressing through the "HARD THINGS". After reading the book by Alex and Brett Harris, Do Hard Things; which is amazing to think on. This has become the Ultimate in challenging my thoughts, actions and now new mantra for 2010. I remember hearing about this book and the Rebelutionaries, the Harris Brother teens, while attending CIY -MOVE in Holland Michigan 2008. Let's move on.

Ultimately I love the ending; or really I enjoyed the ENTIRE THING! It reminded me a lot of what I used to be like when I was a few years younger. So here is something that really captured my eye as well as my heart to do something different with my life beginning 2010. After all it is never too late to begin something, right?
  • " Things that take you outside your comfort zone- taking risks to grow.
  • Things that go beyond what's expected or required - pursuing excellence.
  • Things that are too big to accomplish alone - dreaming and daring big.
  • Things that don't earn an immediate payoff - being FAITHFUL and CHOOSING INTEGRITY.
  • Things that go against the cultural norm - taking a stand for what is right."
Nothing like starting like the present.
Do hard things. Do little hard things. My Ultimate with all that is possible with in.

Ultimate

Oh what I would do to see Ultimate Frisbee on snow . . . wouldn't that be fun!!!!?

worthy of a moment

It is SO very cold here in the mid west, yet it is worthy of the moment. Even though I have challenges set before me in this sub zero weather, I find it amusing to adore the things most often over looked in our life, for we all have the same 24 hours in a day. TODAY. Can it be fathomed correctly? I wonder, however my heart is warmed to the core of how very fortunate we are. For instance to call those whom are reading this blog our LOVED ONES.

There is so much to be thankful for!
Breath of Life
the ability to be healthy enough to even live
sight to see the Creators' creation all around me
smell to remember the moments of life in the aromas surrounding those moments
taste; which by the way is a "kissing cousin" to smell, to savor the flavors of whatever is a favorite or an attempt to try something new YUMMY or yucky which ever it may be
touch with the ability to caress the smooth, rough, bumpy, grainy, creamy and every other texture imaginable
hear the giggle of a baby, the breath of the wind, the melodies of life - our MUSIC and our rhythm that makes us who we are!

You are worthy of the MOMENT because You are a MASTER PIECE created with INTENTION!!!
